Getting started on Foodstack

The setup order that gets you taking wholesale orders fastest.

Written by Lexi Smith

Foodstack gives you a wholesale storefront, a customer list, and an ordering system in one place. This article walks through the setup order that gets you taking orders fastest.

1. Set up your company

Go to Settings → General and add your company name, logo, and contact details. These appear on your storefront and on every invoice, so it's worth doing first.

2. Add your products

Open Products and add what you sell. Each product holds the descriptive details buyers care about — roast level, process, origin, varietals, tasting notes, elevation — and each product needs at least one variant (for example a 12 oz retail bag or a 5 lb wholesale case). Variants carry the price, so a product with no variants can't be ordered.

3. Decide how ordering works

Under Schedule you choose between two models:

  • Always open — customers order any time.

  • Ordering windows — orders are collected during a window, then fulfilled on a set day. Best if you roast or produce to order.

See Setting up your ordering schedule for the details.

4. Set up delivery and pickup

In Delivery, create the ways customers can receive their coffee. Each method is priced by weight tiers and can carry an order minimum.

5. Add your customers

In Customers, either invite existing wholesale accounts or create them directly. Each customer gets their own payment terms, prices, and catalog visibility.

6. Connect your accounting

Under Integrations, connect QuickBooks or Square so orders become invoices and payments flow back automatically.

7. Publish your storefront

Open Storefront to build the page your customers order from — banner, sections, and FAQs. It has a draft and a published version, so you can build it before anyone sees it.
