Adding and managing customers

Invite or create wholesale accounts, and set terms, pricing, and visibility per customer.

Written by Lexi Smith

Every wholesale account you sell to is a customer in Foodstack. Each one gets its own terms, prices, and view of your catalog.

Two ways to add a customer

  • Create them yourself. If you already know the cafe or grocer, add them from Customers and you're trading immediately. You can also invite their team to log in afterwards.

  • Invite them. Send an invite and they set up their own login and company details. Good when you want them to fill in their own contacts and locations.

Customers can also come to you: requests that arrive through your public page land in Inquiries for you to approve or decline.

What you control per customer

Open a customer from Customers to set:

  • Payment terms — how long they have to pay after being invoiced.

  • Custom prices — per-variant prices just for them.

  • Custom delivery rates — different pickup or delivery pricing than your defaults.

  • Catalog visibility — hide specific products or variants from this buyer.

  • Contact information and their locations.

All of this lives on the pairing between you and that customer, so it never affects your other accounts.

Pausing a customer

If an account is behind on payment or you need to stop them ordering for any reason, lock them from their customer page. A locked customer can still log in and see your catalog, but can't check out. Only you can unlock them.

Customers with several locations

A customer with multiple cafes can have a location per site. At checkout they choose which location an order is for, and their team members can be restricted to just the locations they actually work at.

Removing a customer

Removing an account hides it from your customer list but keeps its order history intact, so your reporting and invoices stay accurate.
