Placing an order

A walkthrough of checkout, and what to do if it won't let you continue.

Written by Lexi Smith

Once your cart has what you need, checkout takes a minute. Here's each section and what it wants from you.

Order details

Pick the ordering window your order belongs to, if your producer uses them — you'll see the date your order will be ready alongside each option. There's also a memo field, which goes to the producer with your order. Use it for anything that isn't a line item: a note about the delivery door, a grind request, a heads-up that you're closed Monday.

Order summary

Your lines, quantities, and totals. Worth a last look at sizes here — ordering a 12 oz bag when you meant a 5 lb case is the most common slip.

Delivery

Choose your delivery method — the pickup or delivery options your producer offers — and, if your company has more than one site, the location this order is for.

Billing

Choose your payment method. What you see here depends on what your producer offers and the terms they've extended to your account.

Then place the order

Placing it copies everything into an order and empties your cart. Prices and delivery charges freeze at that moment, so nothing shifts afterwards.

If checkout won't let you continue

Checkout blocks rather than letting a broken order through. The usual causes:

  • No ordering window is open. Wait for the next one — your cart keeps its contents.

  • No delivery method chosen, or the ones available need a higher order value to unlock.

  • No location chosen, when your company has several.

  • Your account is on hold with that producer. Contact them directly — only they can lift it.

After placing

Your order sits as submitted until the producer accepts it. Need a change? Message them quickly — before they start roasting, most edits are easy.
